Etch a Sketch 1

  1. Sorry for the delay in writing, just have not been able to wrap my mind around the fact that I won’t ever see T.Mo again. A lot of people have mentioned that they knew T.Mo through music or skateboarding or motorcycle riding etc., I just knew T.Mo, those other things were just things we happened to have in common. We met through skateboarding while T.Mo was still in High School and I didn’t find out till some years later that he went to Thomas Jefferson (TJ) with (2) of my cousins.(Small World?)
I never had a brother, but I did have T.Mo and I imagine it as a much better relationship. I never remember fighting with T.Mo, or arguing, we did disagree and always worked things out. That doesn’t happen a lot in the real world
Funny stories? I don’t even know where to begin. Anyone ever remember T.Mo wearing a Huge Tan sweater with a “square” cut out of it? From what he told me, one of his brothers (Tom, Marty, or Moose) had to take a crap while on a hunting trip and used his sweater for toilet paper! He wore it like a badge of honor! I laughed ever time I saw him wear it, and will laugh every time I think about it.
He told me a lot of very funny stories about his brothers and sister, I know how much he loved his family by how he portrayed them to me.
I’m not sure how many of his friends realize how talented T.Mo was, and that he was an exceptional artist as well as a musician, and as much as he enjoyed eating, he was an amazing cook too! I have some of his drawings and photographs of the etch-o-sketch drawings that I will post on this BLOG later. My mom used to keep me and my sister occupied by drawing when we were kids , so I’ve done it all my life and most of my friends have been around my family enough to be forced into it too. T.Mo was a natural and a part of my family. Things you never forget. T.Mo always wanted a motorcycle, but didn’t get a 2-wheeled motorized vehicle (Vespa) until he moved out on his own. We rode scooters all over (a lot further then they should have been ridden!) and after a few years he traded up to a real motorcycle (BMW). My dad loaned him the money to buy his first “Beemer”. The thought that sticks in my head and I have most trouble with is that you should not out live your children, and T.Mo’s mom didn’t want him to have a motorcycle because they are dangerous, and what will I tell my son when he wants a motorcycle? Again, sorry for the delay in writing. I will write more as my memory clears.-Dan
